Question:
Answer: Yes.
Possibly the least thought about piece of furniture in your house is your bed and the mattress that sits upon it, but the fact is that your mattress may have the greatest impact on your day-to-day health. Your mattress can either encourage good quality healthy sleep or deprive you of it.
Do you wake refreshed or worn down? Is your night full of restlessness, tossing, and turning? These can be signs of an improper or unsupportive mattress. Even worse the lack of sleep can weaken our immune system. If your mattress is so bad that it keeps you awake night after night your sleep neurons could potentially malfunction. Lack of sleep has been known to cause an inability to focus, difficulty remembering, and even work quickly and efficiently. Other results of how mattresses can affect your sleep are waking up more tired than you went to bed and feeling stiff or sore after a night’s sleep. Lack of sleep can potentially lead to serious illness or even disease.
Probably the most important lesson we can take from all this is that sleep is important and even more importantly we encourage you to listen to the signs, the signs that your current mattress is no longer up to the task of comforting and supporting you. Your body will thank you.
